Rarner Architectural Services is led by Chris Tully, an Architectural Technologist with over 10 years of experience across residential, commercial, retail, healthcare and large-scale development projects.

Chris has worked throughout his career on projects ranging from small residential alterations and bespoke self-build homes through to major retail developments, healthcare facilities, Ministry of Defence projects and complex commercial schemes.

This breadth of experience brings a practical and technically focused approach to every project, regardless of size or sector.

Professional experience

Experience across scales and sectors.

Chris began his career in a small architectural practice, gaining broad experience across residential and commercial projects, from domestic alterations and planning applications to multi-million-pound bespoke self-build homes.

He then spent five years designing and managing major new-build retail developments across Scotland for a large national food retailer, building extensive experience in commercial development, technical coordination and site delivery.

More recently, Chris has worked across Ministry of Defence projects, extra-care facilities, healthcare, residential and other large-scale developments. Alongside this wider experience, Rarner has delivered independent projects for the past four years, primarily residential alongside commercial work of varying scale.

Technical thinking

As an Architectural Technologist, Chris brings a strong technical focus to the design process. Consideration is given not only to how a project looks, but also to how it will be built, detailed and brought together in practice.

Technical thinking is embedded from the earliest concept and planning stages. By considering construction, materials and buildability early, potential issues can often be identified before they become more difficult and costly to resolve.

The result is design information that is clear, practical and considered, helping projects move more smoothly from planning through to construction.
